Engineering Expertise

At PRENEAL, we pride ourselves on our in-depth knowledge of production potential, wherever we operate. Our group owns 140 wind measurement towers in Spain and over 45 in other countries. Our team has several years of experience in developing, constructing and operating wind farms.

PRENEAL Group has developed strong technical expertise in:

• Wind resource measurement and production estimates
• Micrositing and production optimization
• Project planning and construction execution
• Wind-farm maintenance and operations

In Canada, installation and maintenance of our wind measurement towers is subcontracted to GPCo Inc., a leading specialist in the field. All production estimates and farm designs are carried out by Sogepyme S.A., our engineering firm based in Oviedo (northern Spain). Access to this highly-qualified expertise has contributed to our credibility over the years.

Our Group’s engineering department is staffed with highly-qualified engineers, specializing in electrical grid operations.

PRENEAL also created and currently operates one of the four national wind-farm control centres in Spain. This centre provides 24-h monitoring/action services for all our wind farms and also helps the national system operator manage and improve the efficiency of the electrical grid. The PRENEAL control center also offers monitoring/action services to our competitors’ wind-farm operations.
